"O’ Say Can You See" Installation by Laura Poitras
The installation features a projection of the imagery from Ground Zero in 2001, with audio recorded weeks later at the Yankees’ come-from-behind Game 4 World Series victory on October 20. Poitras says, "O’ Say Can You See is a meditation on loss and revenge." Interviews with recently released detainees from Guantanamo Bay are presented on flat screen monitors, adding new layers of information and emotion about the War on Terror. FREE admission.

"Shell We Tie a String to That?" Art Exhibit
The exhibit explores fiber art and mixed media using themes relating to nature and shells. Emmy award-winning storyteller Willa Brigham, a member of the African American Quilt Circle in Durham, will present art quilts embellished with strings and shells. Cyn Mallard will exhibit beach, sand and shell inspired mixed-media paintings using new and recycled materials. And Sara McCreary explores the use of string as an art medium with her yarn paintings, yarn orbs and ceramic pinch pots filled with pine cones wrapped in yarn. FREE admission.

"I Have No Right To Be Silent" Exhibit
Rabbi Marshall Meyer is remembered for his ability to articulate why we are all responsible for speaking out against injustice. This traveling exhibit consists of 12 beautiful banners whose text and imagery draws on the rich and powerful collection of documents contained in the Marshall T. Meyer papers including intimate family photos, moving letters from prisoners, internal government memos, and rare human rights publications. FREE admission.

"RACE: Are We So Different?" Exhibit
This award winning interactive exhibition is the first of its kind to tell the stories of race from the biological, cultural, and historical points of view. The exhibition brings together the everyday experience of living with race, its history as an idea, the role of science in that history, and the findings of contemporary science that are challenging its foundations.
