Fan Mail!

Even 10 years after our home purchase, we still had nightmares about our last real estate agent.  So when it became clear we were going to have to move, we were just going to go it on our own.  But when I met Stacie at an open house, I had to reconsider.  She was a breath of really needed fresh air.  And that was the way it was all the way through our relationship with her.  She always knew how to help us even when we didn't know we needed any help. Stacie has been a part of some of the biggest changes in our life together as a family-- deciding to leave the home where we brought our children home from the hospital when they were born, the house of their first steps and of their first words; helping us find the home of their future, the house of driving lessons and first dates, the house where they will  figure out how they will change the world; and helping my parents find a new home in Durham where they can retire and be with their grandchildren.  Its been almost two years now, but I still have Stacie's number in my phone.  She is the first person we send everyone to when they have any real estate needs.  We are so fortunate to have found her.

Hot Sweaty Mess at Kid Rock...

I was a Hot Sweaty Mess at the Kid Rock & Sheryl Crow concert at Walnut Creek Pavilion. The weather was steamy and the concert was hot like fire.  It was probably the most interesting collection of folks I have seen in years. I think we were overdressed. Lol The majority of the female fans wore very little fabric (not enough to consider clothing) to proudly display their curves (no matter the size or age) and tattoos. The males (that I saw) did have on bottoms but boldly displayed tatts and piercings as well.  Now don't get me wrong - I 'm not mocking them - I was totally mesmerized by their Free Spirit and don't-give-a-damn attitude. If you love watching people like I do then this was the place to be. Tailgating before the concert allowed plenty of time for food, fun and adult beverages to get folks in gear (if needed). The music was loud and the vibe was insane.

I have always Loved Sheryl Crow. She looked gorgeous and delivered as usual. I liked Kid Rock before but after the concert I can honestly say that I'm an Official Fan (which is somewhat concerning). Kid Rock is a great performer and musician. He is keeping it real. He drank from a Jim Bean bottle, used profanity, showed a slide show of his life and had pole dancers in the background.

During the night my friend from Germany asked me "what is that smell"? I told her it was a mixture of body odor and marijuana and then we just kept dancing. So the moral of this story is maybe you can judge a book by its cover. Because what you see is what you get with Kid Rock, no excuses!

Go Realty + Urban Ministries Durham = Happy Community!

Faye Morin, Volunteer Coordinator checking out our Culture Book.
Our little reminder:)

Yeah a Check!

I love working at Go Realty for many reasons but I will just share one for now. As a strong believer in giving back, a portion of all of my commission is donated to the "Go Gives Back" program. Go puts their money where their mouth is by matching it. It feels good to work at a company that encourages us to volunteer and give back to our community and charity of choice.

My charity is Urban Ministries of Durham. Urban Ministries provides food, clothing, shelter, and supportive services for our neighbors in need.  I started volunteering there sporadically a few years ago and it is life changing not only for the people in need but for the volunteers. I encourage you to check out the website at Urban Ministries Durham and get involved. I promise you it is a worthwhile and rewarding experience.
