Facebook is even more crazy cool! Now you can easily make VIDEO CALLS TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS ON FACEBOOK (providing of course they have built in or attached video capability.)
I just set this up with my friend, Karyn Cho earlier today while she was working. She used her phone to communicate with me so I was unable to see her but she could see me (we are still working on this part) but it works well if both parties are on facebook. WARNING! Remind the person you are communicating with that other people can hear you especially if the office speaker phone is on. Lol Glad we were on our best behavior today!
It only takes a minute to set up. The following is a step by step guide before you start bugging people try it with a friend/family member that accepts you the way you are:)
1) FIRST GOT TO http://www.facebook.com/videocalling
2) click on "GET STARTED"
3) Select someone to call
4) Next you have to download the software. Just follow the instructions; it only takes a minute and you only have to do this once.
5) Then make the call
Once this is set up you can just go to your home page, go to the bottom of the page to chat, look for who's on Facebook, click on who you want to chat with, look for the little video icon in the upper right and click on it. If you don't see the little video icon, try refreshing the page or leaving facebook and coming back to it.
Whoever you call will have will have to go through the set up process before taking your call but it is easy only takes about a minute.
You can even leave a video message if they don't answer; HOW COOL IS THAT?! Have fun with this and remember that people can see you smile, laugh and roll you eyes in person so use with care:)
