Photographer and former Durham resident has documented Durham’s historic treasures in his new book Durham In Changing Light. "Exchange" Ceramics Exhibit
Featuring five regional clay artists, the exhibit centers on the "exchanges" achieved through collaboration, mixing ideas, or the synthesis of a ceramic vocabulary. Deborah Harris and Marsha Kitkowski join forces to create 100 porcelain tea bowls, which were passed back and forth at the different stages of making. Joy Tanner and Teresa Pietsch are residents at the Energy Xchange, a Burnsville, NC, group studio where the interplay of ideas, and discussion between artists, is fostered.
